hiking in the tweed
There are few formal hiking trails in the Tweed Valley, the Wollumbin summit trail being the exception. But here are a few other ideas of where to explore somewhat off the beaten track. We look forward to the development of the Tweed Byron Hinterland Trail coming online in 2024?
Clarrie Hall Dam to Crams Farm
Its a pleasant 4wd track that is a 12km one way walk to Crams Farm at the southern end of Clarrie Hall Dam. It a serious hill, so not for the faint of heart.
Hell Holes Falls
Much nicer than it sounds and not recognised as a legal walking trail. This link will go to another web site because they have done all the hard work already.
Coogals Trail
One of the more adventurous informal trails in the Tweed and again not a "formal" trail which would be maintained or promoted by parks or council to everyone's benefit. Again - this link will go to another web site, but come back for some more ideas!
Mebbin National Park.
As there are no formal cycling trails in Mebbin National Park, these would be walking trails we found. Disused 4wd trails kept open by the local moto riders make for some nice walking trails.
